General Passport Photo Guidelines
1. Lighting and Shadows
Your photo must be evenly lit with no shadows on your face or the background. Red-eye is unacceptable. Ensure the light source is in front of you.
2. Background
Unless specified otherwise by your country, use a plain white or off-white background with no patterns or textures.
3. Expression and Pose
Look directly at the camera with a neutral expression. Both eyes must be open and your mouth should be closed. Do not smile broadly.
